How can we help?
Answers to the questions we are asked most, and a way to reach the team when they do not cover yours.
Common questions
Buying a boat
Use the enquiry form on the listing. It goes to the seller, a private owner or the broker handling the boat, who replies to you directly.
No. Boatfront is a marketplace: each boat is listed by its owner or by a broker. The viewing, the survey and the sale are arranged between you and the seller. We recommend an independent survey before you commit to a purchase.
Yes. Save a search and we email you when a boat matching it is listed. You can change or remove saved searches in My account.
Choose a currency from the menu at the top of the page and prices are converted into it as a guide. The seller's own asking price, in their currency, is the one that counts.
Selling a boat
Choose Sell your boat, add the details and photos, then pay for a 30 or 60-day listing. It goes live as soon as the payment goes through.
Yes. Open My account, find the listing and choose Edit listing. Changes to the price, description and photos appear straight away.
To the email address on your account, with the buyer's name and contact details, so you can reply to them directly.
Mark it as sold in My account. It comes down from search straight away and the listing does not renew, so you are not charged for it again.
Billing and payments
Each listing renews at the end of its 30 or 60 days at the same price, until you mark the boat sold or stop renewal in My account. Stopping renewal leaves the listing live until the end of the period you have paid for.
Every invoice is in My account under Billing, where you can download it as a PDF. Brokers find theirs under Billing in the broker portal.
Send us a request with the invoice number and we will look into it. You can start one from the invoice itself in My account, which fills in the details for you.
Brokers
Open the profile and choose to claim it. Once we have confirmed you work there, you can manage its listings, details and team from the broker portal.
Yes. The broker portal imports listings from a spreadsheet, or keeps them in step with a feed from the system you already use.
Each colleague has their own sign-in. Invite them from the Team page in the broker portal and they share the brokerage's listings and enquiries.
Your account
Choose Forgot password on the sign-in page and we will email you a link to set a new one. If you signed up with Google, use Continue with Google instead.
Open Settings in My account. A new email address is confirmed by a link we send to it before it replaces the old one.
Open Communications in My account. Every alert and update we send also has an unsubscribe link at the foot of the email.
